Indra Newlight

Director of Search Operations

Indra joined Motive in 2018. She heads our search operations, enabling all the gears to mesh smoothly for Motive and clients alike.

Indra began her professional career in the Bay Area software industry, first designing websites and UI/UX for interactive virtual tours. From there she became an Art Director at the legendary agency Foote, Cone & Belding, honing adherence to “brand” for Fortune 500 companies such as Avaya, Blue Shield, Compaq, Dockers, Janus, Slates, Taco Bell, and Zima.

When the tech industry contracted in 2000, she moved to Vancouver, B.C. to attend film school. She soon worked as Director of Photography and in other capacities on feature-length and short independent films, first in Vancouver, then Los Angeles.

In 2006, Indra re-embraced branding and UI/UX, working for a variety of startups, from London, to New Brunswick to California. Her experience with early-stage companies led her to the Bellingham Angel Investors, managing their day-to-day operations and coordinating pitch meetings.

In addition to her education in Cinematography from Vancouver Film School, Indra holds a B.A. in Fine Art and Art History from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. She also holds numerous film credits on IMDB and several of her short clips can be viewed on Vimeo
