Paul Bingham

Paul leads Motive’s research and analysis efforts. In this role, he is at the core of the firm’s operations, and regularly engages directly with candidates and clients.

He has been a information magpie in various forms for over two decades. As a research leader, Paul has contributed to over 100 C- and VP-level executive searches, for clients such as Amazon, Uber, Nubank, EY, Zillow and other industry-leading companies, on behalf of several technology-focused executive search boutiques.

Prior to executive search, Paul was a Faculty Member of the Communications Department and Assistant Director of Forensics (Speech & Debate) at Western Washington University, teaching argumentation and research skills. Paul is also a world-class debating champion (which helps contribute to many highly spirited research meetings at Motive). He toured internationally as one-half of the USA National Debate Team, and coached and led university debate teams on dozens of trips, domestically and abroad. As a Speaker and Specialist with the US Department of State, he taught debate in Serbia.

More recently, Paul co-founded KeenCBD, a successful manufacturer of well-being products, and served as COO of an award-winning small toy company. He also co-authored the book Understanding Argument; the Journey from Consumer to Critic, Critic to Advocate. Paul majored in International Relations at Lewis and Clark College, and graduated with Honors in Communication after winning the National Parliamentary Debate Association's National Championship.
